  • Unable to verify concern. Check engine light is not on at this time. No fault codes stored in the engine control module. Road tested vehicle on the freeway while watching misfire detection with scan tool, 2 misfires detected, 1 on cylinder 1 and 1 on cylinder 3. Not enough to trigger a fault code or turn on the check engine light. Road tested vehicle a second time in the afternoon. Cylinder 3 detected 21 misfires. Still no check engine light and no fault code stored in the engine control module. Swapped cylinder 3 and 4 ignition coils. Road tested. Now cylinder 1 detected 10 misfires. Still no check engine light or fault code in the engine control module. Advised customer that we would recommend to start by replacing the spark plugs and ignition coils with genuine VW ignition coils and Bosch or NGK spark plugs. We added a bottle of fuel additive to the fuel tank. Customer picked up vehicle and was going to replace the spark plugs and ignition coils on his own. Advised customer to return vehicle for further diagnosis if check engine light comes back on. No repairs performed at ths time.

  • Verified concern. Someone has modified and lowered the vehicle at some point and then tried to put it back to stock. The front sway bar is cut and missing the sway bar links. When turning the wheel all the way to a hard left, whats left of the sway bar is hitting the axles causing the noise customer is hearing. This is a safety issue. Recommend to remove and replace the front sway bar with bushings and brackets and also replace missing front left and right sway bar links and hardware.
