Services Performed
- Verified concern. Oil is leaking out of the coolant reservoir and onto the ground. Found the engine oil cooler has failed causing engine oil to mix with coolant. Recommend to remove and replace the engine oil cooler and seal and flush cooling system.
- Removed air filter housing. Removed upper and lower engine covers. Drained coolant / oil mixture from cooling system. Removed the engine oil filter. Sucked out the engine oil from the engine oil filter housing. Removed and replaced engine oil cooler and seal. Changed engine oil and filter. Reset oil change service reminder. Re filled cooling system with distilled water and coolant flush, flushed cooling system. Replaced the coolant reservoir cap due to swollen seals. Ran engine until the engine cooling fan came on. Drained coolant. Re filled cooling system with distilled water and coolant flush, flushed cooling system. Ran engine until the engine cooling fan came on. Performed the same procedure about 9 or 10 times until I clearly see the oil in the cooling system was dissipating. At that point I drained and re filled the cooling system with fresh coolant. Bled cooling system. Checked and topped off coolant level. Flushed cooling system. Ran the engine until the engine cooling fan came on. Drained cooling system. Re filled the cooling system with fresh coolant. Bled cooling system. Checked and topped off coolant level. Sucked any remaining residual engine oil from the coolant reservoir. Road tested. Vehicle is operating normally. Advised customer that there will still be residual oil in the coolant reservoir. Advised customer that it is impossible to remove all the residual oil from the cooling system without replacing every component in the cooling system. Advised customer that the vehicle is operating normally.
