  • 7 fault codes are stored in the engine control module, P2015, P1A58, P2BA6, P0401, P240F, P0401, and P2002. Removed upper engine cover. Removed lower engine cover. Loosened right front axle shaft assembly from transmission. Lowered subframe. Removed EGR filter. Removed diesel particulate filter. Stripped down diesel particulate filter. One of the exhaust gas temperature sensors is stuck in the diesel particulate filter and cannot be removed. Called customer and he authorized us to replace the diesel particulate filter, EGR filter and the three exhaust gas temperature sensors in the diesel particulate filter. Replaced the diesel particulate filter and the three exhaust gas temperature sensors in the DPF. Replaced the EGR filter, exhaust flapper motor and rear oxygen sensor that came with the EGR filter repair kit. Re installed in reverse order of removal. Performed basic settings on EGR flapper motor. Recommend a wheel alignment since subframe was lowered during repairs. Cleared fault codes in the engine control module. DPF warning light is still on. 2 fault codes are still stored in the engine control module, P2BA6, and P1A58. Road tested. Check engine light came back on. Recommend an extended road test to clear DPF warning light, check engine light, permanent DTC memory as well as reset readiness code. Vehicle is operating correctly after all repairs were complete.
  • Removed intake flap motor. Installed intake flap motor repair kit. Re installed intake flap motor. Reset intake flap motor basic settings. Road tested after all repairs were complete. Check engine light did not come back on. Fault codes did not re appear. Vehicle is operating correctly.
  • Removed and replaced the passenger side outside mirror glass.
  • Verified concern. Found the screw for the outer drivers door handle key tumbler is loose causing the key tumbler to move when opening the door. Removed trim from the side of the driver door. Tightened the screw for the key tumbler on the outer drivers door handle. Re installed trim piece. Verified door opens on the first try every time.
  • Performed an extended road test after repairs to clear DPF warning light, check engine light, permanent DTC memory as well as reset readiness code. Verified readiness code is set. No current, pending or permanent fault codes stored in the engine control module. Vehicle is operating correctly.
  • Completed a wheel alignment after repairs were complete due to loosening of subframe during repairs. Road tested. Vehicle drives straight. Steering wheel is centered.
  • Removed and replaced the left license plate light bulb. Verified the license plate lights are working correctly now.

Charging test- load off: 14.30 Volts- pass, load on: 13.54 Volts- pass. Advised customer that the alternator passed a load test but we did hear it whining. Customer requests to still remove and replace alternator and drive belt. Disconnected battery. Charged battery out of vehicle. Removed and replaced alternator and drive belt per customer request. Re installed battery. Restored electrical power. Tested battery, starter and new alternator. 12.54 Volts, 546 EN, bad battery–replace. Starter test- cranking volts- 11.09 Volts- pass. Charging system, load off- 14.31 Volts- pass, load on- 14.20 Volts- pass. Advised customer that battery test failed. Customer may have pro-rated warranty coverage left on battery. Customer is aware the battery test failed and is going to take vehicle as is.

  • Advised customer in order to inspect the clutch we would have to remove the transmission and inspect it. We recommend to start with a test drive to see how it feels driving and if it slips or smells like it is burning. Customer agreed. Road tested vehicle. Vehicle drove fine. Vehicle did not slip while driving. Could not smell any burning. Did not hear any chattering. Advised customer that clutch seems to be ok at this time. This could change in the future but at this time vehicle is operating correctly. Inspected serpentine belt. Belt appears to be original belt. Recommend remove and replace serpentine belt.

Found 8 fault codes stored in engine control module, U0429 -implausible date received from steering column control module, P2015-intake manifold flap pos. sensor (bank 1), P2015-intake manifold flap pos. sensor (bank 1), P2015-intake manifold pos. sensor (bank 1), P2187-system to lean at idle, P0300- random/multiple cylinder misfire detected, P0301- cylinder 1 misfire detected, and P0303- cylinder 3 misfire detected. Found the intake manifold runner lever is broken causing the intake manifold codes. Found the oil separator diaphragm has an internal vacuum leak causing the lean code and misfires.
  • Removed upper engine cover. Removed engine air filter housing air duct. Loosened high pressure fuel line at high pressure fuel pump. Loosened engine wire harness. Removed engine oil filter. Loosened EVAP hose to EVAP purge valve. Loosened intake manifold brace. Removed intake manifold. Replaced intake manifold with gasket. Swapped fuel rail, EVAP purge valve and fuel injectors from old intake manifold to new intake manifold. Replaced fuel injector seals. Re installed in reverse order of removal. New intake manifold had updated solenoid valve that required a vent line to be installed. Installed vent line from solenoid valve for intake flap runner to top of valve cover. Cleared fault codes. Road tested. Vehicle is operating correctly. Check engine light did not re appear. Fault codes did not re appear. Engine is running normally.
  • Removed ignition coils. Removed and replaced engine oil separator with gasket. Re installed in reverse order of removal. Cleared fault codes. Road tested. Vehicle is operating correctly. Check engine light did not re appear. Fault codes did not re appear. Engine is running normally.

  • Verified concern. Oil is leaking out of the coolant reservoir and onto the ground. Found the engine oil cooler has failed causing engine oil to mix with coolant. Recommend to remove and replace the engine oil cooler and seal and flush cooling system.
  • Removed air filter housing. Removed upper and lower engine covers. Drained coolant / oil mixture from cooling system. Removed the engine oil filter. Sucked out the engine oil from the engine oil filter housing. Removed and replaced engine oil cooler and seal. Changed engine oil and filter. Reset oil change service reminder. Re filled cooling system with distilled water and coolant flush, flushed cooling system. Replaced the coolant reservoir cap due to swollen seals. Ran engine until the engine cooling fan came on. Drained coolant. Re filled cooling system with distilled water and coolant flush, flushed cooling system. Ran engine until the engine cooling fan came on. Performed the same procedure about 9 or 10 times until I clearly see the oil in the cooling system was dissipating. At that point I drained and re filled the cooling system with fresh coolant. Bled cooling system. Checked and topped off coolant level. Flushed cooling system. Ran the engine until the engine cooling fan came on. Drained cooling system. Re filled the cooling system with fresh coolant. Bled cooling system. Checked and topped off coolant level. Sucked any remaining residual engine oil from the coolant reservoir. Road tested. Vehicle is operating normally. Advised customer that there will still be residual oil in the coolant reservoir. Advised customer that it is impossible to remove all the residual oil from the cooling system without replacing every component in the cooling system. Advised customer that the vehicle is operating normally.
