  • It didn't go more than 5mph. They had it towed to another shop but they don't have scan tools to talk to the car. They referred customer to our shop. Original owner of car, regularly maintained. Almost all miles are in town driving. Customer gets gas at Exonn/Mobil. He is aware of the coolant low message, the coolant level sensor is bad but he hasn't replaced it yet. Inspect and advise. Verified concern. Check engine light is on. EPC light is on. Traction control light is on. TPMS light is on. Loss of power. Vehicle will not accelerate above 5 MPH. 14 fault codes are stored in the engine control module, U1113, P0641, P1573, P310B, P0122, P0222, P2539, P2541, P1558, P050B, P0088, P2015 (236), P2015 (237), P0238. Upon inspection found rodent damage to the engine wire harness. It looks like a rodent ate through 5 wires in the engine compartment near the front left lower part of the engine. Recommend to repair rodent damage to the wire harness and re evaluate.
  • Repaired rodent damage to the engine wire harness. Cleared fault codes in the engine control module. Started the engine and the check engine light and the EPC light came back on immediately. Tried to drive vehicle and it still will not accelerate over 5 MPH. 4 fault codes stored in the engine control module, U1113 Function Restriction due to Faults in Other Modules, P0122 Throttle Position Sensor (G69), P0222 Angle Sensor for Throttle (G188) – Signal Too Low, and P1558 Throttle Actuator (G186) Electrical Malfunction. Ran basic settings test for throttle adaptation and it failed – timed out. Checked for power and ground and signal to the throttle body wire harness, all present and okay. Cleaned throttle body and tried to run basic settings test for throttle adaptation again and it failed once again. Checked 20 amp fuse #14 in fuse and relay box in the cowl area of the engine compartment and it is good. Throttle body is malfunctioning. Recommend to remove and replace throttle body.
  • Removed and replaced throttle body and gasket. Cleared fault codes in the engine control module. Ran basic settings test for throttle adaptation and this time it passed – system okay. Check engine light is off. No fault codes stored in the engine control module. Road tested. Vehicle is operating correctly. Now the only light that is coming on is for low coolant level, which customer stated he is aware of and does not want to repair at this time.
  • Tested battery, 12.51 volts, 426 A EN, Bad and Replace. Recommend to remove and replace battery. Removed and replaced battery. Restored electrical power. Tested new battery, 12.44 volts, 873 CCA, Good and pass. Registered new battery. Purged fault codes. Road tested. Vehicle is operating correctly.
  • This dealer is required by law to charge a nonrefundable $1.00 California battery fee and a refundable deposit for each lead-acid battery purchased. A credit of the same amount as the refundable deposit will be issued if a used lead-acid battery is return
